Calculate and publish results
Close the poll, run the count, check the outcome, then publish (and optionally email) the result.
Calculate results
When voting has closed (on schedule or because you ended it early), open election details and select Calculate results. Large elections show progress while the count runs. When it finishes, review the outcome, then Publish when you are ready.
For Scottish STV, scroll the round-by-round detail so you can see transfers as well as the final list of elected names.
Publish, then decide about email
Publish makes the public results page available. Broadcasting results email is a separate step: it messages the invite list with the outcome and link. Publish without broadcasting if you want a quiet URL for the website first. Broadcast when you are ready for every invitee’s inbox to see the result.
