This page explains how SimpleVote uses cookies and similar technologies. We use only strictly necessary cookies required for authentication and security. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not show a cookie consent banner for non-essential tracking because we do not deploy it.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session or preferences.
2. Cookies we use
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token (and related Supabase Auth cookies) | Keeps you signed in to the ERO dashboard securely via Supabase Auth | Session / refresh period set by Supabase Auth | Strictly necessary |
Exact cookie names depend on your Supabase project reference. They are set with HttpOnly, Secure (in production over HTTPS), and SameSite=Lax attributes where supported by Supabase SSR.
3. What we do not use
- Marketing or retargeting cookies
- Third-party advertising trackers
- Email open tracking pixels tied to voter identity
- Non-essential analytics cookies requiring PECR consent
4. Voter magic links
Voters casting ballots via magic links do not receive a persistent login cookie. The token in the URL is single-use and is validated server-side.
5. Managing cookies
Because our cookies are strictly necessary for dashboard login, you cannot use the ERO dashboard without them. You can delete cookies via your browser settings; this will sign you out.
