Self-nomination workflow
Let candidates apply through a public link, then approve or reject them before you open voting.
Open nominations
Self-nomination is useful when you cannot (or should not) type every candidate in yourself.
On election details, under Self-nominations & ballots, open nominations for the ballots that should take public applications. Copy the Public nomination URL and share it in your usual channels (email to members, branch WhatsApp, website). You can still add candidates by hand for people who should appear without applying.
Nominations close automatically when you select Open voting. Leave enough calendar time between the close of applications and opening the poll so you can review the pending pile.
Approve and reject
Pending applications show in the nominations panel with Pending, Approved, and Rejected filters. Select Approve when someone should appear on the ballot. To reject, you must give a rejection reason and confirm. The nominator is emailed when you approve or reject, so write reasons you are willing to stand behind.
After approval you can still edit statements, photos, proposers, and YouTube links. Finish those before you open voting, then use Preview ballot as a last check from a voter’s point of view.
